Samsung Galaxy Fold, A device that defies the expectations. Samsung has introduced a new smartphone with folding screen technology that allows multi-tasking from gaming to streaming, and even live broadcasting all at once. This is a new attempt by Samsung to start a new trend.
Galaxy Fold is the most forward-thinking smartphone of 2019 with the latest technology, yet still not something we can recommend to most people. The reason being its price which is twice the price of today’s best smartphones. The device is too expensive to purchase. On top of that, it has a troubled track record regarding durability, which could prove a deal-breaker for many potential buyers.
Samsung Galaxy Fold was initially scheduled to launch in February 2019. but following some early hands-on testing by the press, it was discovered that the Fold was not ready for primetime. So Samsung set to stop all sales of the Galaxy Fold and rethink its design.
Samsung has relaunched the device with more detailed care instructions in September in South Korea and is about to get launched in India by October 2019. Interested buyers can pre-book the device on October 11 at 12 PM and it will be available at 315 outlets across 35 cities in India including the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru. The delivery of the device begins on the 20th of October.
Galaxy Fold has come with an amazing dual display option that makes it a phone and a tablet in one cutting-edge device. It opens like a book that doubles the screen space resulting in a large room for viewing. On unfolding, it is capable to expose a 7.3-inch tablet-sized flexible display with a resolution of 1536×2152 pixels. It also features a smaller cover display of 4.60-inch with a resolution of 840×1960 pixels, intended for accessing the device without opening it. The book-like structure of the device makes it the largest Galaxy smartphone screen yet.
The device has 12 GB RAM for intensive multitasking and 512 GB internal storage built-in storage is ample space for your apps and media.
The smartphone comes with the dual battery with 4380mAh capacity that uses and recharges both cells to prevent overcharging. Intelligent battery management puts apps you’re not using on reserve to save power.
It runs on Android Pie operating system and is powered by Octa-core (2.84 GHz, Single core, Kryo 485 + 2.42 GHz, Tri core, Kryo 485 + 1.8 GHz, Quad-core, Kryo 485) processor. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Chipset.
For the camera, the device lets you capture the wider world, no matter how you hold it. You’re sure to capture stunning photos and videos with six pro-grade cameras. It features a 12MP + 12MP +16MP lenses that help to capture the world wider with a crisp quality. Its low aperture of F1.5 allows enough light to make the picture brighter. The device also presents a front lens of 18MP + 8MP that will give users amazing selfie pictures.
Samsung Galaxy Fold has a great configuration, good battery backup, substantial memory, great cameras, and display. However, the device is too expensive with the screen’s plastic coating which is not as premium or durable as a traditional glass smartphone screen, and resulting in Samsung Galaxy Fold as a proof of concept device for early adopters rather than a device suited for the mass market.
